On May 26, 2019, local time, Sacramento Shaolin cultural center hosted the grand Buddha Bathing Day to celebrate the birth of Buddha. There were around one hundred students from the cultural center and Shaolin culture lovers participated in the event the same day. The dharma assembly was presided over by Shi Yanwen, head of the Shaolin cultural center.

Local different ethic groups experienced Buddhist culture and Shaolin culture through the Buddha Bathing Day assembly, which gained people’s love and favor. Many people attended the event like this for the first time. They expressed the dharma assembly was very solemn and let them feel profound power of Buddhist culture. They expressed that Shaolin culture gave them a lot of benefits, for example, they could make their body strong and healthy meanwhile meditation practice can make their heart gain peace and calmness.

The guests tasted delicious vegetarian foods together after the end of Buddha Bathing Day and students from Shaolin cultural center gave their talent shows. The event was completed successfully in the warm, peaceful atmosphere. (Edited by Zou Xiang and Photographed by Shi Yanwen)
