On 14 June 2015 in Milan (Italy) within the events of Milan Expo, took place the event "The world in the farm", during the 2 edition of "Bread and Music", annual meeting of culinary cultures and musical traditions that values the participation of the international community in Milan and intercultural dialogue, sponsored by the City of Milan, by the World-City Forum  and the World-City Association.
Shaolin Cultural Center of Milan has attended the event (along with the Community of Cuba, Peru, Philippines and Africa present in Milan) contributing to the "multi-ethnic buffet" -representing China through rice and green tea and to the section of "Perfomance art" with a Shaolin Qi-gong and Gong-fu exhibition of some students.

Master Shi Hengding, lay disciple 35 generation of Shaolin monks, presented the value of food vegan and vital energy (Qi) taught by Shaolin culture which help to stay in mental and physical good health. Hengding explained that, according to Chan Buddhism, anyone who wants to spiritually evolve must respect life in all its forms. Buddha taught non-violence (ahimsa) as the first principle of civilized human being: Shaolin monks are always for the defense of life, including the lives of animals (from which they draw inspiration for the practice of Gong-fu); Shaolin monks are vegan (that is, they do not eat neither meat nor fish and for this reason they are among the strongest and in health men in the world) and the Shaolin Cultural Center of Milan - in support of Shaolin monk ShiYanhui, official representative of the Shaolin Temple in Italy – working to promote Chan Buddhism, Shaolin and Traditional Chinese Medicine and Shaolin martial arts, offers also vegan food and education to healthy and non-violent diet through seminars, conferences and the restaurant.

Cultural exchange is the first contribution to the tradition of Shaolin Temple: this event of meeting and intercultural dialogue were very interesting and all the participants of the various ethnic communities, the institutional representative of the City of Milan and Milan ethno TV journalist and reporter have greatly appreciated the rice and green tea offered by Hengding and the Shaolin performances of Shaolin Cultural Center of Milan students.

Really, Shaolin Culture has become an instrument of unity, friendship and bond between the peoples of all races and nationalities in the world.
