On May 24, 2018, at 3:00pm, 4 of group of General Zhaluteniciji, the General Staff of Russia, head of Military Academy, visited Shaolin Temple and received a warm welcome from Shaolin monks, accompanied by Senior Colonel, Professor Yang Yucai from National Security College of China's National Defense University.

Accompanied by Master Yanyun of Guest Chapel in Shaolin Temple, the group of General Zhaluteniciji visited halls of Shaolin Temple Permanent Residence Compound, as well as Shaolin cultural heritage including sculptures, inscriptions, murals, etc. General Zhaluteniciji spoke highly of Shaolin Temple’s profound culture for hundreds of years and highly praised of sangha’s efforts to carry forward the Dharma to benefit all sentient beings.

At the Hall of Shaolin Temple, the group of General Zhaluteniciji watched Shaolin warrior monks’ Kungfu performance and was full of praise. After the performance, the group of General Zhaluteniciji had a cordial talk with Russian disciples in Shaolin Temple and invited the Russian disciple of Shaolin Temple as interpreter.

Before embarking, General Zhaluteniciji wishes Shaolin Temple could send Shaolin disciples to go to Russia for exchange cultural exchanges. He gave Shaolin Temple the General Staff College Medal and expressed that, “Today I come to Shaolin Temple and see that Shaolin monks protect the common wealth of mankind-Shaolin Temple so well, which moves me deeply. What is more, I feel genial to see that there are Russians to study in Shaolin Temple. I hope that Shaolin Temple and Russia could carry out more cultural exchanges.” (Editor: Yue Long)
