Shaolin Temple USA Awarded 31 Gold Medals at US Kungfu Magazine’s Tiger Claw Elite

SAN JOSE, May 22, 2016 (Shaolin)--The 2016 Tiger Claw Elite Championships, one of the largest martial arts tournaments in the United States, was held at the City of San Jose’s McEnry Convention Center on May 21-22, 2016. US and international competitors participated in over 200 divisions during the two-day tournament.

 

 

Students met challenges at the tournament to assess their training with fruitful results. They received excellent scores and gained valuable experience. 

 

School Team from the San Francisco Center won 1st place in Group Event.

 

Shaolin Temple USA’s competition team continued its winning streak after outstanding results at the 24th UC Berkeley Chinese Martial Arts Tournament last March. The team garnered 67 medals, including 31 gold, 12 silver and 22 bronze.

 

 

Children’s  Team from San Francisco Center won 2nd place in Group Event.

 


School Team from the Fremont Center won 3rd place in Group Event.

 

The 31 gold medals included Champion of all participating teams; Adult All Around Grand Champion; Group Event Champion; and 28 individual event champions.

 

 Student from diverse ethnic backgrounds made up Shaolin Temple USA’s competition team.

 

Team Shaolin Temple USA’s 3 school teams also won the first 3 places in Group Event.

Comprising 30 students aged 5 to over 50 from the San Francisco and Fremont Shaolin Culture Centers, the team competed in a wide range of divisions for various age groups and skill levels for traditional Kung Fu and weapons.
