（March 7, 2105, San Francisco）Basked in the sun's golden rays in a spring afternoon, world economic, cultural and tourism epicenter San Francisco hosted its one-and-half-century old cultural extravaganza — the annual Chinese New Year Parade. Shaolin Temple USA joined 140 parade teams from all over the United States in jubilant celebration of the Year of the Golden Ram.

This is the sixth consecutive year that Shaolin Temple USA was invited to participate in this world famous parade. The 50-member Shaolin unit comprising Shaolin warrior monks and their students from Shaolin Temple Culture Centers in San Francisco, Fremont, California and Stanford University showcased magnificent Shaolin Kung Fu in a breathtaking program that enthralled hundreds of thousands of street spectators and millions of TV and web viewers.

Today, the warrior monks’ performance featured the "Shaolin Seven Stars Fist" and an array of traditional Shaolin weaponry. Their extraordinary martial arts prowess in a dazzling display of Shaolin Kung Fu captivated audiences of all ages, leaving them in utter amazement. Simultaneously, another component of the team consisting of students performed the very unique "Shaolin Muyu Kung Fu" that illustrated the union of Kung Fu and Chan. In between performances along the parade route, the group chanted “Amituofo” in unison, accompanied by the sound of the Muyu, and occasional echos of their chants from the audience. A second group of students demonstrated spectacular Broadswords and Shield sparring drills, complementing the dynamic yet meditative Muyu Kung Fu, and the Warrior Monks' breathtaking Kung Fu pageantry. These three components of the Shaolin team together presented a fascinating glimpse of the multifaceted Shaolin Kung Fu Chan culture. The spectators showered the team with non-stop cheers, bravos, encores and applauses throughout the 15-block parade route.

Shaolin Temple USA’s performance was prominently featured on television in the prime time live broadcast of the parade. “Very impressive!” exclaimed KTVU Fox-2’s host. The live coverage was simulcast in Mandarin and Cantonese on KTSF26. World media and spectators alike never had a spare second as they tried to capture all the wondrous moments.（Editor: Chanyue）
